Since the occurrence of the February 6th earthquake, Needs Map has been actively involved in various fields on the ground and has collaborated with many stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the support provided in the affected area is sustainable for individuals and regions. In this context, Community Centers have been established within the Living Spaces in Hatay and Kahramanmaras to support long-term recovery and development efforts for the regions and to sustainably support the needs of the people living in these areas.
These centers aim to provide psychosocial support in the medium and long term for all individuals affected by the earthquake, meet educational needs, increase social spaces, and conduct activities that support psychosocial well-being, in addition to meeting basic needs. Furthermore, these centers target the restructuring of livelihoods, the rebuilding of resilience in the regions, and the recovery of businesses for SMEs, as well as the reconstruction of social cohesion and gains in areas such as culture and arts for the people in the region.
Through this project conducted with Servier, installation works for Community Centers within the Living Spaces established in Hatay and Kahramanmaras have been carried out.
