After the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaras/Pazarcik in Turkey on February 6, 2023; the factory and infrastructure system in the region has been damaged and the need for restructuring in social capital management has become serious. Hence, the key activity for medium and long-term restructuring in the region and for individuals to rebuild their livelihoods is highlighted as to create a solution for the employment problem. Through this project, by integrating the Employment Map, creating a solution to the employment problem which was a major problem even before the earthquake, then has increased after the earthquake; and to contribute to the rebuilding of livelihoods has been aimed. Hence, “Employment Map’‘ Platform is aiming to facilitate the employment process for the citizens affected by the earthquake easier, along with the selected provinces, in order to enable new solutions to employment problems and to help them to restructure their livelihoods again.
Through the map-based (GIS-based) infrastructure of the platform, it offers diverse vocational areas which are easy to view and apply for job opportunities across Turkey, especially to nearby selected locations. In this regard, institutional information and criterias for the employees will be processed into the system and presented to the women. Thus, with GIS (Geographical Information Systems) based matching technology, it will offer internship, training, conferences and job opportunities for women in the earthquake region. In this way, among hundreds of vocational posts, the platform will provide the opportunity to apply for the most appropriate one. Hence, people who are in need of job opportunities can quickly apply for vocational posts in different fields and can benefit from the opportunities. In addition, while the searching process of getting a new job is accelerated with the location-based search option; the region-based job analysis facility helps institutions/organisations to reach a wider pool of employees. Moreover, through the technological infrastructure of the platform, it will be possible to reach statistical data such as; location and region-based job rate for users, matching rate for institutions and women looking for a job, and application rate.
Also, the platform makes it possible to collect and analyse data on employment rate. By using the platform, it will be quite possible to mobilise the public institutions, private sector actors, national/international organisations. Therefore, improvement and development works for future activities can be planned with the provided data analysis.
