After the earthquake disaster that affected more than 10 provinces on February 6, 2023, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO), Adana Chamber of Commerce (ATO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Needs Map have worked together in order to establish the “Regional Reconstruction and Development Center” (RRDC) to carry out activities and projects targeting the socio-economic needs of the region. The center contributes to the sustainable development of the region by enhancing its resilience to reduce the impact of past and potential future disasters and to build resilience in the region
In this regard, the EU-DAHIL Project is conducted in collaboration with the Regional Reconstruction and Development Center (RRDC) and SPARK Turkey Representation with financial support from the European Union (EU). Within the scope of the SPARK Grant Program, through the financial support of the European Union, it was aimed at supporting the regional economy by providing machinery, equipment, and raw material procurement support to at least 40 (SMEs) and cooperatives affected by the earthquake in Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, and Şanlıurfa provinces. The applications for this project were collected by Needs Map via a special data collection and dashboard system, and all project coordination was carried out by Needs Map teams. While all of the support and needs requested by the selected (SMEs)/cooperatives have been met in line with the funding source, for this purpose, the (SMEs)/cooperatives were visited on-site by Needs Map field teams in order to verify the support and needs requested by the business owners. Also, the procurement and the delivery processes for the machinery, equipment, and raw materials provided within the scope of the grant were conducted by Needs Map teams.
